At many of our new stations and some of our existing stations we will deploy a new generation of fast chargers that allow you to charge up to 3 times faster (up to 175 kW) with electric vehicles that are suited for these higher charge speeds. At the moment the Hyundai Ioniq can charge at 70 kW and that is 50% faster!
You can also use these new chargers with another vehicle with a CCS or CHAdeMO connector, but charging will not be faster that usual (up to 50 kW) because the vehicle determines the charge speed.
When you arrive at a station with a Hyundai Ioniq the best option is to use this new fast charger if available. Do you have another vehicle? Please choose the regular 50 kW chargers when possible in order to keep the new chargers available for drivers that can benefit from it.
At the moment you can find the next generation fast chargers at the following stations:
- De Watering, Oostzaan (A8 Zaandam - Amsterdam HMP 4)
- Den Ruygen Hoek-West, Hoofddorp (A4 Amsterdam - Leiden HMP 14)
- Jutphaas, Nieuwegein (A2 Den Bosch - Utrecht HMP 69)
- Portland, Rhoon (A15 Europoort - Ridderkerk HMP 55)
We expect to equip about 12 stations with these new generation fast chargers before summer 2018. After summer we will continue with the rollout of these 175 kW fast chargers.
Note: the next generation of fast chargers is no longer equipped with an AC connector. However, we have decided to continue installing chargers with an AC connector at our new stations for the time being while this remains viable. At the moment station De Watering is the only location without an AC connector because we have only installed the next generation fast chargers.
