The most important reason we chose an app, is that we want drivers to be able to register on the spot. This is very convenient for new customers and drivers from abroad. We are building the service stations of the future so we also aim for a payment system which is suitable for large numbers of customers. A charging card might be a solution for low volumes, but not so much for hundreds of thousands of customers. Cards need to be sent, can get lost or damaged - all very frustrating when you want to charge.
Payment methods are rapidly evolving, and we keep an eye on these developments. When a payment methods arrives which allows faster and simpler transactions (like swiping with your phone or debit card) we’ll implement this when we are ready.
If you use NewMotion, Travelcard, MultiTankcard or XXimo card, you can use these card numbers as payment method in the Fastned app.
