The charging speed is determined by the 'battery management system’ (BMS) of the car. The charge speed can be lower than expected due to:
- The charge level (%) of the battery. The charge speed will be lower when the battery gets fuller. Particularly above 80-85% the charge speed will go down noticeably.
- Cold or warm weather. Charging of the battery will go slower and the BMS will heat or cool the battery when the car has this option.
- A second car at the same fast charger has a limited influence or the charge speed depending on the request power of both cars.
