  It could be that there is a plastic cover, covering the bottom part of the charge port. If so, this plastic cover needs to be removed in order to plug in the CCS connector.

Charge speed

The charge speed is up to ~170 kW at our 300 kW chargers, up to ~140 kW at our 175 kW chargers and up to 50 kW at our 50 kW chargers.

Please note that the charge speed can drop when the battery of your car is cold. It can help to drive awhile before charging. To heat the battery, the Model 3 also uses up to 10 kW while charging.

The charge speed is up to 218 kW at all of our chargers. On average, the Model S/X (Plaid) can charge is 100 km of range in 5 - 10 minutes.

The charge speed (with CCS-adapter) is up to 140 kW at our 150+ kW fast chargers and up to 50 kW at our other chargers. You can add 250 km of range in 20-25 minutes.

Charging without CCS adapter

With a Tesla Model S or Model X (without the CCS-adapter) the quickest way to charge at Fastned is to use the CHAdeMO-adapter.
With this adapter, you can charge up to 50 kW with the CHAdeMO connector. You can add 100 km of range in 25-30 minutes (depending on the exact model).
Please note that we no longer offer CHAdeMO adapters at our stations. You can check if it is possible to get a CHAdeMO adapter yourself, but we recommend ensuring your Tesla is compatible with the CCS adapter.

Navigation & preheating

You can preheat your Tesla's battery by navigating to a Fastned station, which allows your Tesla to charge faster. You can easily find Fastned stations via the Tesla's navigation system.

    Unlock the connector

In some cases, the car may not release the connector.

  • Use your Tesla app (menu 'Charging') or the screen in the vehicle (choose the lightning symbol for the 'Charging' menu and press the lock symbol).
  • Manual release: For that, please open the boot and pull the emergency release ring, adjacent to the charge port. This allows the connector to be removed from the charge port.
