Charge speed

The charge speed is up to 40 kW at all of our chargers. In the charge curve below, you can see the charge speed of the e-Golf. On average, the e-Golf charges 100 km of range in 20 – 25 minutes. Charging behaviour largely depends on battery size:

  • 24,2 kWh edition: fast charging until 75%, charging will go slower after this
  • 36 kWh edition: fast charging until 80%, charging will go slower after this

The charge curve shows the charging behaviour of this car when the battery is in optimal conditions (around. 30 °C). A colder (or warmer) battery can result is a significantly lower charge speed.

Quick tip #1
After a failed charging attempt (i.e., a communication error), it is always needed to reconnect the plug into the car.

Quick tip #2
If the connector remains locked when charging is finished, you can unlock the connector by using the car keys to lock and unlock the doors. The car will then unlock the connector as well.
