In short

  1. Press 'stop' on the charger screen
  2. Remove the cable from your vehicle

Step by step

How to end a session started via:

Fastned app (incl. Autocharge)
  1. To stop the session, click 'stop' on the charger or in the Fastned app. If the app does not react, try to close the app (e.g., double click and swipe up) completely and reopen it. You should now be able to end the session.
  2. The session has ended, and the vehicle lets go of the cable. You can see this on the charger screen, the Fastned app and in your vehicle’s dashboard.
  3. Remove the cable from your vehicle
Charger (charge card and other)
  1. Press 'stop' on the charger. Started a session with a charge card? In some cases, you may need the card again to end the session. If you don't see the 'stop' button, try swiping the card again.
  2. Remove the cable from your vehicle

Issues removing the cable

In some cases the vehicle does not let go of the cable.

CCS
  1. Make sure the session has ended
  2. Unlock the car with your car keys
  3. Push the connector back into the car and try unlocking the charge port again (I know, it is already in the car - Just give it a try 😉). You might need to try this several times.
  4. It could be that the connector cannot be unlocked due to the weight of the cable that blocks the unlock mechanism. In that case, it helps to support the cable when you unlock the connector with your car keys.
  5. Check out your vehicle page here. For many vehicles, you can find additional tips and how to perform an emergency release.

Still issues? In that case, it can be that the charge port is broken. You may need direct help from the manufacturer of the car.

CHAdeMO
  1. Make sure the session has ended
  2. Slide the slider on the top of the connector forwards to unlock the CHAdeMO connector.
  3. Check out your vehicle page here. For many vehicles, you can find additional tips and how to perform an emergency release.
